Davey
has been a recognized leader in the compressor industry for over 75 years.
Since our invention of the first air-cooled portable compressor in 1926,
we have been at the forefront of compressor design. For the last 40 years,
we have been designing, engineering, testing and building rotary vane
air compressors with unparalleled reliability, durability, serviceability,
performance, and quality. This can be demonstrated by every unit that
leaves our factory bound for one of our customers.
The
key to the success of the Davey Air Compressor is simplicity. Simple to
install, simple to operate and simple to maintain. Installation is a matter
of setting in the machine and connecting up the power source and the air
lines. Operating the units is even easier. There are no unnecessary or
fancy controls to contend with, just choose which mode to run in, either
Manual or Automatic, and hit the Start button. The machine will take care
of the rest. Maintenance is also very easy. From oil changes to filter
replacement, everything has been designed to be maintenance friendly.
Even the air-end is completely field serviceable.
The
heavy-duty, powder coated steel welded chassis was engineered to be compactand
yet also provide a solid and rigid base to ensure the machine can withstand
decades of rugged dependable use. The PermaVane air-end is covered by
a 5 year or 15,000 hour warranty to guarantee years of trouble free service
in even the most demanding environments. Within the air-end, the vanes
and the bearings have also been specially designed to enhance the air-end
life. The vanes are manufactured from a high strength lightweight alloy
and coated with a specially formulated armor coating to reduce wear and
enhance life. The oversized bearing used in our air-ends feature a L-10
bearing life of 90,000 hours. This kind of designed durability allows
us to offer a 5-year air-end warranty* on all the compressors we sell.
The
longstanding tradition of manufacturing only the finest compressors available
has and continues to be our primary objective. We manufacture a large
percentage of the components for the machine in house. They are built
in our state of the art manufacturing plant and many of the components
are produced on Computer Numerically Controlled (CNC) Machines. During
the manufacturing process, the components are tested for dimensional accuracy
on a Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM). Of the parts that we do not make,
we purchase only the finest quality industrial products and materials
available on the market. This includes high efficiency motors, electrical
controls, belts, hoses, and etc
After every machine is built, and
before it leaves our plant, all aspects and functions of the machine are
tested to ensure that the machine performs up to our rigorous quality
standards.
Our
time tested and proven tough compressors are the result of over 40 years
of rotary vane compressor design experience. Our unique free-floating
rotor and blade design will continually fine-tune itself to give the best
performance possible. The machines come standard with automatic dual control,
which saves energy automatically. When air demand is met, the compressor
unloads itself. After a short interval, it shuts off automatically. When
air demand returns, the compressor automatically goes back to full load.
Specially designed quiet packages can bring the noise level down close
to an astonishing 75db. All the belt drive machines feature small compact
packages that will allow the compressor to be put almost anywhere.
The
legendary reliability of our compressors can be attributed to a number
of factors, but the key to it is the heart of our compressor, the PermaVane
air-end. With only one continuously moving part coupled with the fact
that our pumps spin at slow speed typically much less than 1500 RPM, it
is no wonder that the air-end lasts as long as they do. The old adage
Fewer parts, fewer parts to fail can be changed to fewer
parts, fewer parts to fail, fewer parts to replace, fewer service calls.
The machines also feature high capacity oil reservoirs, oversized separators,
and cooling systems. The longevity can be exemplified by the multitude
of machines that have been in service for 10, 20, 30, 40, and more years
continuously running up to three shifts a day. This long standing tradition
of producing some of the most reliable air compressors available in the
market today continues on in all the compressors we manufacture.
From
the air-end to the separator to the oil system to the air control system,
all of our units were designed with service in mind. The air end is the
only completely field serviceable air-end available on the market. Changing
oil is also a snap. Simply drain the oil through the conveniently located
valve, remove the filler plug and refill. The oil filter is a specially
designed, oversized spin-on type filter. The air control system can also
be completely rebuilt in the field with a handful of parts. The only routine
maintenance on the compressor is to clean and/or replace the oil and the
filters.
